The disocnnect between Teachers who engage with technology and those who do not.

I recently replied to Scott McLeod’s (@mcleod) request for information about the disconnect between teachers who engage with technology and those who do not. Here is my response:

Student learning is a delicate balance between engagement, understanding, willingness and drive. Technology allows us to harness this in the classroom and outside of the classroom. Teachers who have not embraced technology are being left behind by those who do. Its the digital divide all over again.

I think that this is an interesting topic and it will be interesting to see what people overall put down. There is certainly going to be a disconnect and there will be a significant divide over the coming years with the introduction of 1:1 programmes and with the BYOD schemes in a lot of schools.
